Abstract: Prior research has shown that safety practices and a positive safety culture impact safety performance. This study seeks to reexamine safety culture by identifying key attributes and principles that account for best safety practices in high safety performance organizations. A “safety star” conceptual framework is proposed as a way of redefining safety culture.
