Abstract: It has always been a major concern for companies to select talented candidates. Job applicants too have always been concerned about the selection criteria companies apply. Thus, we can see that employee selection, specifically selection criteria, is an area of interest for many people. This study aims to (a) understand the significance of various selection criteria for accounting or auditing positions, and (2) assess their relative importance. The criteria in our study are (1) academic performance, (2) working experience, (3) communication and interpersonal skills, (4) attitude towards work, and (5) extra-curricular activity (ECA) participation.
