Issue Date: 1998
Abstract: Today, Singapore stands renowned as a world-class city. What used to dominate the central area - squatters and slums - had all but disappear. Within a short span of thirty years, modern skyscrapers had sprung up in their place. What intrigued us was how the authorities in Singapore managed such a transformation. This report aims to trace and examine the process of the Central Business District. This report examines how the authorities carried out their plans to develop the CBD and how they implemented the various development control measures.
