Abstract: The life insurance industry is one area in the financial sector of Singapore which has grown significantly over the last two decades or so. From a mere total of 248,077 policies in force in 1980, the figure rose every year to reach more than 2.7 million in 1996. This impressive growth trend does lead one to wonder if the Singapore life insurance market has come to a point of saturation.
