Keywords: | DRNTU::Business::International business::Retail | Issue Date: | 2001 | Abstract: | Traditional retailing has been transformed dramatically in recent years due to the explosion of opportunities generated by advanced infomration technology. The emergence of electronic commerce has presented both new opportunities and threats for busines. With internet access becoming ubiquitious, the internet is being used as a tool for communication as well as a platform for business transactions and operations. This study aims to gain a better understanding of three business models currently used in retailing, traditional "brick-and-mortar", online and "click-and-mortar", and suggest appropriate strategies to be adopted. An exploratory study was undertaken to study their characteristics, key success factors and challenges, and determine the consumer attitudes and behaviours of cyber-buyers and non cyber buyers towards online shopping. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/11668 | Schools: | Nanyang Business School | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
