Abstract: The pressing need to increase the supply of clean water has been a major concern worldwide. There is growing trend of using activated carbon to treat the wastewater. Activated carbon is useful in water treatment because it acts as an adsorbent, and can effectively remove particles and organics from water. These organics are of great concern in water treatment Activated carbon treatment can be cheaper than other clean up methods. However, activated carbon does not destroy chemicals.
