Abstract: A comprehensive investigation of the seismic response of infrastructure to long distance earthquakes is presented in this report. The two main achievements of this report are, firstly, the proposal of an intensity scale for modern cities, and secondly, the multiple-support response spectrum (MSRS) analysis of the mass rapid transit (MRT) viaduct system in Singapore.
