Abstract: Experimental model tests were carried out to determine the ultimate soil pressure acting on the pile(s) undergoing lateral soil movement. Single piles and pile groups with different pile spacings, numbers of piles and arrangements of piles were investigated. Numerical studies were also carried out using three-dimensional finite element analyses.
