Airport development trends in Asia

Abstract

Some common trends are noticed in the development of these new airports. They are built much further away from city, often on man-made island or reclaimed land. Rail link has become an indispensable part of the airport access transportation network. In a passenger terminal design, a hybrid concept comprising a main terminal building with connections to satellites or piers is commonly adopted.
