dc.description.abstractDiaphragm walls are gaining popularity over conventional sheetpile walls for deep excavation in soft clay. The reason is because diaphragm walls can have a better control of the ground movement. They can also be designed as part of the permanent structures. In the determination of strut load, most designers still use the Terzaghi and Peck method.en_US
