Title: Wave equation analysis of pile driving based on constrained optimization
Authors: Yan, Yong

Issue Date: 2003
Abstract: A number of theoretical dynamic pile analysis methods are available for pile capacity prediction, ranging from the simple dynamic formula method to the more sophisticated finite element method. The finite difference solution of the wave equation based on dynamic pile test is also widely used. Based on the stress wave theory on pile driving, methods such as CAPWAP had been developed to study pile under impact. This method iteratively solves for soil parameters (damping constants, quake values) and the static resistance distribution from measured pile top force and velocity data.
