Short-term traffic flow forecasting along an urban expressway

Abstract

The objectives of this project are twofold. The first objective is to examine the traffic flow characteristics based on data obtained from traffic monitoring stations along a busy expressway. The second and more important objective is to apply the expressway traffic data to derive suitable models for short-term traffic flow forecasts.
