Abstract: This report investigates into the characteristics, concepts, advantages, disadvantages and the process of design-and-build contracts. Two case studies were carried out. Case study 1 looked at the implementation of the design-and-build projects in the private sector. It was found that the owners were happy with the projects being completed as they were generally on budget, on schedule and met the brief specification. However, the owners found that the quality of construction and aesthetics to be average.
