Abstract: The aim of this work is to develop a reliable fabrication process for InP-based optoelectronic devices to lead to further development of InP-based optoelectonic integrated circuits (OEICs). This thesis demonstrates the fabrication and characterisation of an InGaAsP/InP Mach-Zehnder modulator, which is the initial effort in InP-based optoelectronic device fabrication in NTU.
