Abstract: A disk drive comprises a rotating disk with a recording surface, a transducer in communication with the surface and is swept over the radial surface by a servo actuator. In order for the transducer to position accurately on the recording surface, position and timing information must be written onto the medium during the manufacturing process of the disk drive.
