Issue Date: | 1998 | Abstract: | Satellite networks provide long-haul telecommunication facilities to interconnect terrestrial networks and also, provide communication services to mobile customers. A high-speed backbone network such as ATM provides infrastructure for terrestrial communication. Interconnecting ATM and satellite system is required to transport large bandwidth teleservices to remote areas and mobile customers.
