Abstract: Current popular video storage techniques used in video servers make use of Stripping to partition and store a data block across a disk array. This method ensures a high data transfer rates, and it also avoids the occurrence of load imbalance to the disks. However, for a large number of users, this approach results in an unacceptably high hardware cost and slower response time.
