Abstract: System Dynamics focuses on policy and how policy determines behaviors. It is a profession that integrates knowledge (mostly descriptive) about the real world, with the art of computer simulation for dealing with systems that are too complex for mathematical analysis. It starts with the problems, comes to understand the structures that produce undesirable symptoms, and moves to find changes in the structure and policy that will make a system better behaved.
