Simulation and optimisation of a linear refrigeration compressor

Abstract

This research project is part of a refrigerant compressor design and development project intended to assist the production of a linear refrigeration compressor. The emphasis of this research is on the theoretical analysis of a linear compressor. Simulation results indicate that a linear refrigerant compressor is a feasible proposition. A prototype machine is currently being developed and constructed for further experimentation and development based on the results of these analyses.
