Abstract: This research project involves the conceptualization, design and development of a 3D scanning device for rapid and total body surface imaging in craniofacial and reconstructive surgery. The key contributions of this research are to design a portable device, which can be moved to any desired location to scan immobilized patient and a short acquisition time that is suitable for the scanning of live human subject.
