dc.description.abstract | The objective of the FYP project is to use nano-structured dielectric materials designed with transformation optics to suppress the radiation loss and use gain medium to compensate the inherent Ohmic loss in the metal, thereby effectively reducing the total loss of the standalone device for optical circuits. Furthermore, a complicated Surface plasmon (SP) device with hybrid functions while remaining the low-loss property will be implemented. The timely output of this project will contribute to the realization of ultra-fast optical circuits with small size and high efficiency, thereby enhancing the research excellence and competitiveness of Europe in electronic and information technology. | en_US |
