Title: Kata-kata Arab dalam bahasa Melayu : satu kajian perbandingan dari segi fonologi
Authors: Abbas Mohd Shariff
Keywords: DRNTU::Humanities::Linguistics::Phonology
Issue Date: 1999
Abstract: This thesis is a preliminary attempt to explain phonological phenomena with special reference to contrastive phonology of loan words from Arabic that have been assimilated into the target language (Malay). The theoretical framework of this study is derived from the theory of generative phonology which owes much to the work of Chomsky and Halle (1968) and Anderson (1974).
