Abstract: 网络原创视频在近十年里发展惊人,已成为一种新的媒介景观。为了让视频能够触及更广大的观众群,有的原创视频制作者也为视频附上字幕翻译。一些以幽默搞笑视频为主的制作者甚至发挥创意,为视频附上明显不符合专业规范的字幕翻译。传统字幕翻译原则,本是译界翻译字幕的标准。但当原创视频制作者违反了这些原则时,他们的创造性字幕翻译不仅不受网民所诟病,还成了视频亮点所在,深受网民喜爱。此为本文所要探讨的有趣现象。 本地原创视频制作者“美丽求求你”(Preetipls)的字幕翻译就极具创造性。因此本文选取她的视频作为研究对象,来探讨原创视频制作者面对幽默字幕时,所采用的翻译策略。普丽蒂的字幕翻译尽管可与传统字幕翻译策略对应,但多有翻译不当之处。其创造性字幕翻译,在与业余字幕翻译策略对应之处,更为明显。根据实例分析与个案讨论的结果,本文总结出网络原创视频在幽默字幕翻译中,违反规范却又受网民喜爱的主要原因。 Online original videos have developed exponentially in the past decade, becominga new media landscape. To reach out to a wider audience, some content creators also provide translated subtitles in their videos. While some of them showcase their creativity in the translated subtitles of entertainment-oriented videos filled with humorous content, such subtitles are usually not in line with the professional standards. However, not only did it not draw criticism fromtheviewers, ithad also become the highlight of their video, which are well-liked by the viewers.This is aparticularly interesting phenomenonthat thethesiswill be looking into. Local content creatorPreetipls’original videos were selectedto be thetopic of discussion due to her creatively translated subtitles. By analysingher videos’subtitles,the paper will lookinto humour translation strategies applied by content creators. While hersubtitles do correspondtotraditional subtitling strategies,her creativity insubtitling wasmoreprominent in subtitles that corresponds to fansubbing strategies. According to the analysis and discussion, the thesis concluded the reasons why original videos’subtitles that did not adhere tothe principles are stillwell-liked by viewers.
