Issue Date: | 2020 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Project: | SCSE19-0202 | Abstract: | The study of cryptography and cryptanalysis is often complex and involves multiple sophisticated computations. This requires the student to have a strong theoretical understanding of the algorithm before it can be put to practice. Unfortunately, not all students taking the course CE/CZ 4024 have the aptitude to learn these complex topics through the traditional means of textbooks and research papers. Therefore, an alternative learning approach is required. This is specifically to cater to those students who are more inclined in learning through a hands-on approach. In this project, a web-based demonstration of the statistical analysis of a basic monoalphabetic substitution cipher was explored. This web demonstration allows students to learn the concept of statistical analysis and that of monoalphabetic substitution cipher through practical examples. This web demonstration will also enhance the students’ learning process and experience through explanations and step-by-step visualizations. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/137990 | Schools: | School of Computer Science and Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
