Abstract: This study inquired into the impact of IT in Education on the teaching and learning in a school in neighbourhood primary school in Singapore. It examined the impact of the implementation of the Masterplan for IT in Education in the context of an IT Demonstration School. It also explored into the impact that IT had on the teaching and learning strategies adopted by the teachers in the school, as well as the resulting changing roles of the teachers and pupils. The study also surveyed the changes in teachers' beliefs and practices on what constitute effective teaching and how these changes were supported by a range of contextual factors.
