Abstract: Physical therapy is critical for chronic disease prevention, injury treatment and post-surgery recovery. However, patients often drop out of their recovery programs because of the high costs of physiotherapy, inconvenience to visit rehabilitation centers, and low motivation to continue physiotherapy. This project aims to create a mobile application that allows patients to exercise at home with the supervision of a deep learning model. It also aims to motivate patients by sending regular exercise reminders, using data analytics to track patients' progress, and allowing the exchange of patients' recovery journeys via an in-app blog. Besides, a web-application is also built for physiotherapists to monitor patients' recovery progress over time. In this project, the core backend technologies are built on NodeJS, ExpressJS, MySQL, Tensorflow, and Azure Cloud Services. This report will focus on the development of backend services for both mobile and web applications.
