Abstract: Near real time communication in intelligence microgrid system is critical to better manage the demand and supply of the power in the micro grid system.[1] It allows the microgrid to communicate with multiple controllers and operate dynamically using various different power sources available base on the power demand.[2] This will ensure stable performance and high efficiency of the system. Recently with the development of information communication technology (ICT), near real time communication and signal processing has achieve lots of improvement. All this improvement can have significant impact on the intelligence microgrid system performance. In this report I will study Sphere Decoder algorithm, OPC UA communication protocol and TCP communication protocol. Study and simulation will be carried out to find some of the critical information require for real application use in a control system environment, this will include the signal processing speed and latency of the communication system.
