Abstract: This report focuses on the art direction of ‘Chang’s Morning’, ‘Kopi-O’ and ‘Something for Everyone’ – three animated commercials for fictional coffeeshop ‘Quay Coffee’, detailing the research process which has informed the visual choices made within each animated commercial. It discusses how this practical component of the project has elevated the exploration and allowed for a thorough, nuanced understanding of the evolution of animated commercials through history, and the reasons behind.
