Title: | Fabrication and characterization of hybrid perovskite thin films for solar cell application | Authors: | Dayal, Akhilesh | Keywords: | Engineering::Materials::Organic/Polymer electronics | Issue Date: | 2020 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Abstract: | In the field of clean energy, solar cells are becoming more popular than ever. Solar cells have been around for almost 70 years. It was a ground breaking invention that allowed solar energy to be converted into electrical energy. However, the average efficiency of the solar cells is about 17 to 19 percent [1], while the highest efficiency can reach about 23%. Over the decades, various kinds of research and experimentations have been done to increase the efficiency of the solar cell. One type of solar cells are the perovskite solar cells. The aim of this project is to examine ligands presence and chemical binding on perovskite surface using infrared spectroscopy. To study and improve the stability of perovskite by investigating the effect of ligands to perovskite morphology and film quality using materials characterization techniques. This is done in 2 parts where first, the surface of the perovskite is modified through the addition of organic ligands that is added in an antisolvent. The next part involves the placing the perovskite cells in different environmental conditions so as to test the stability of the cells. While positive results have not been made, progress was still made such that future research projects, could take a look into how perovskite solutions and antisolvent solutions can be prepared faster. This would allow greater amount of time to analyse the perovskites so as to find solutions to improve the stability of the perovskites. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/139760 | Schools: | School of Materials Science and Engineering | Research Centres: | Energy Research Institute @NTU | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
