Title: | Design of transport services as mobility as a service with Hyperledger blockchain (A) | Authors: | Lim, Yu Qi | Keywords: | Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering | Issue Date: | 2020 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Project: | A3153-191 | Abstract: | Increasing population in urban areas, along with problems of traffic congestion and environmental issues such as increasing energy consumption and gaseous emissions, have prompted city dwellers to look for more sustainable ways of commuting. The concept of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) was then proposed to tackle these urban challenges. While several pilot applications that references the concept of MaaS have been launched previously, their centrally controlled platform could be an issue in the long run as the existence of a dominant market leader may lead to a lack of competition in the market. Therefore, it is recommended to integrate blockchain with MaaS. Blockchain is known for its properties of decentralization and transparency, and the involvement of blockchain technology can help to promote further innovations in MaaS and maximize societal benefits. This project investigates Hyperledger blockchain technology for its application in MaaS. This paper will first discuss about Hyperledger Blockchain and MaaS as individual topics, before identifying the advantages and limitations of Hyperledger Blockchain. Lastly, the potential integration of Hyperledger blockchain with MaaS will be reviewed. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/140126 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
