dc.description.abstract | The objective of the project is to design and develop an interactive AR gallery using Unity with Google ARCore. The project is designed to 1) help arts education to be more engaging and immersive, at the same time 2) reduce the risk of damaging the physical art piece, and finally 3) to create a flexible, dynamic and multi-purpose exhibition that does not only restrict to traditional art exhibition. In the gallery, the user will scan the surrounding for the plane to place the exhibition items on. The user can then interact with the displayed items by approaching them and/or using different gestures on the items. From the owner’s point of view, the displayed item in the gallery are dynamic and flexible. The owner is able to change the content of the displayed item by updating the database, without making changes to the application itself. The project is developed using Unity game engine, Google ARCore API and MySQL database. In order to achieve desired function and ensure good user experience, the following techniques and knowledge is applied: design principle, required programming languages, and related technology. In this report, design and development process is detailed in such manner: introduction, literature review, application design, implementation, conclusion and recommendation for future development. | en_US |
