Abstract: The objective of this project is to design a mobile application chatbot with Telegram API to cater to the NTU community to order food and beverages. The idea of this project stemmed from using chatbots to bring convenience and introduce local dishes to international students staying in NTU whom are not familiar with the local cuisine. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic as of writing, the objective has now been shifted to finding a way to safely and hygienically cater meals to students whom are still living and residing in campus during these extraordinary times. The use of chatbot still remains central in achieving the objective. The bot is developed using Google Dialogflow after comparison between different bot development platform and customised to the local food and beverages menu. It is an end-to-end process that connects the user and the stall owner with “Ah Lian” chatbot agent being the facilitator to ensure that the order is made successfully. The ordering, payment and collection process will be contactless given the COVID-19 situation. This will reduce any form of contact and ensure safe distancing between the user and the kopitiam store owner.
