P. T. (2020). A theoretical study of correlation effects of N electrons in semiconductor nanocrystals : applications to optoelectronic properties of perovskite nanocrystals. Doctoral thesis, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. | Abstract: | The research described in this doctoral thesis lies at the interface of two major fields of modern physics: solid-state physics and atomic physics. On the one hand, the former offers a rich playground replete with fascinating phenomena, thanks to the endless possibilities of variation in the lattice structure, chemical compositions, material dimension etc. On the other hand, the theoretical techniques from atomic physics, for dealing with finite systems of multiple interacting particles (i.e. finite many-body systems), have been developed to a high standard of rigour and methodology. The aim of this work is to apply the theoretical formulations from the latter field to solve certain outstanding issues in semiconductor nanoparticles, a branch of solid-state physics. These problems would be extremely time-consuming or even infeasible with the traditional techniques that are normally used in the study of semiconductor nanocrystals. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/140290 | DOI: | 10.32657/10356/140290 | Schools: | Interdisciplinary Graduate School (IGS) | Organisations: | Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, Grenoble, France | Rights: | This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). | Fulltext Permission: | open | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
