Abstract

This paper seeks to elucidate the processes and mechanisms by which the state's ideologies are perpetuated through the local secondary education system. Using Strauss and Corbin's Grounded Theory, it examines the everyday strategies teachers and students undertaken in negotiation the system in which they find themselves, and the results of these.
