Title: | Negative refraction in metal-insulator-metal plasmonic architecture | Authors: | Voo, Roth Qin Gui | Keywords: | Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering | Issue Date: | 2020 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Abstract: | In this project, the aim is to simulate suitable materials and constructions of metamaterials with negative refractive index in the visible frequencies, specifically with the metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide construction. This project studies the negative response created from coupled surface plasmon polaritons of the metal dielectric interface in the waveguide. Simulation with the material parameters will allow us to see how light behaves in the waveguide medium and identify the possibility of scaling up the structure for practical usage in the Negative Refraction field. COMSOL is the software being used for the simulation. MATLAB is used for the Dispersion behaviour calculations of suggested materials and frequencies. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/140350 | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
