The SMGCs are used for the slot profile to improve the bandwidth while maintaining the antenna size. Two prototypes of BSAs are built on FR4 and RO5880 substrates providing fractional bandwidths of about 90.3% (1.7-4.5 GHz) and 71.4% (2.7-5.7 GHz), respectively. The simulated S -parameters, realized gains, current distributions and radiation patterns along with measured results are discussed. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/140393 | ISSN: | 1536-1225 | DOI: | 10.1109/LAWP.2018.2872009 | Rights: | © 2018 IEEE.
