Abstract: Quick Nap is a satirical app prototype inspired by delayed sleep phase phase syndrome and its accompanying problems, and more importantly, is inspired by an incident that occurred on February 2019, where a migrant worker in Singapore was allegedly reprimanded by a man for taking a nap at a void deck after having lunch. The app aims to encourage people to take many naps in public spaces in a fun and engaging way. It relies on user-generated content for satire. Hopefully by utilising our privilege to destigmatize napping in public spaces, no migrant worker will be yelled at for taking a break.* In the app, users can: Submit a listing for a place where one can take a nap (nap spot) View nap spots submitted by other users on a map Upload photos of a nap spot and of their nap Check in to a nap spot Rate the nap spot Earn badges for certain actions and achievements within the app Earn experience points and level up by engaging with the app *We should still advocate for and assist people in need. There are wider, more pressing problems that need to be solved, and this project is an attempt at a creative solution.
