Solar energy as a new energy power generation has become more and more popular in recent years, but photovoltaic efficiency is low due to changes in irradiation. In this dissertation, in order to solve the problem of shading issues of solar energy applications. A high efficiency and compactness high voltage GaN-based DC-DC converter was designed. Because of the wide band gap and higher switching frequency and higher power density. GaN-based transistor is becoming more and more popular in power electronics filed. The tropology of DC-DC converter is chosen as LLC resonant converter since it can reduce many conduction losses caused by high switching frequency. This dissertation detailed designed the electrical parameters of LLC resonant converter and established a simulation in PLECS. Moreover, a model of GaN-based transistor is built, the turn-on and gate charge characteristics’ result is shown in Saber. Finally, the whole system is constructed in PSIM, the system achieved the aim of tracking the maximum power point from PV panels and output voltage is raised to 400V successfully.en_US
