Title: | Control solidification speed of polyurethane | Authors: | Goh, Kheng Hui | Keywords: | Engineering::Mechanical engineering | Issue Date: | 2020 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Project: | A155 | Abstract: | In this project, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPUA-265A) will be mixed with Carbon Black by dissolving in an alcoholic solvent, acetone. TPUA-265A will be added with four different amounts of Carbon Black content by mass. The samples, including TPUA-265A without any Carbon Black content, will be tested in Differential Scanning Calorimeter for its crystallisation behaviour and melting behaviour. The samples will also by tested in Dynamic Mechanical Analysis for other properties under a variance of temperature. Poly (Butyl Acrylate), also known as PBA, another polymer that has a few similar characteristics to TPUA-265A will also have Carbon-Black added and tested similarly to TPUA=265A to compare the properties between the two polymers. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/140733 | Fulltext Permission: | embargo_restricted_20230531 | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
