Abstract: Going through life hiding many secrets from the people closest to me, The Space in Between was conceived from my desperate need to exhale. We keep our secrets buried deep inside us, akin to the process of holding one’s breath, but for how long? Recollections of the past present themselves in the work to deconstruct the often-overlooked state of holding until the urge to breathe cannot be ignored. The Space in Between, therefore, invites reconciliation with the truth, providing a new meaning to the intrinsic human need to belong.
