Title: | Multi-hop communication using random linear network coding | Authors: | Wang, Xingli | Keywords: | Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Wireless communication systems | Issue Date: | 2020 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Abstract: | In order to overcome the lossy channel caused by the wireless multi-hop communication system, a multi-hop transmission system using Random Linear Network Coding (RLNC) is studied in this dissertation. To implement the multi-hop communication, socket technique is utilized. To perform the encoding and decoding process of RLNC, a novel C++ library for matrix operation in Galois field is proposed. The performance of RLNC is evaluated by the number of received linearly independent packets, compared with conventional packet forwarding approach without RLNC under different circumstances. The results show that RLNC has better performance than conventional scheme if there are enough linearly independent packets received at the receiver using RLNC. In addition, the RLNC is applied to the image transmission in the multi-hop communication network, further verifying the effectiveness of the RLNC. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/141310 | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
