Title: | Terror on our shores : Asean's struggle for supremacy. | Authors: | Sithararani Doriasamy. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Social sciences::Sociology::Terrorism | Issue Date: | 2003 | Abstract: | This paper traces the origins of terrorism threats facing Southeast Asia with reference to specific countries -Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, and Singapore. It will look at the problems in these countries and the obstacles they face in the war on terror, and offer some recommendations to ASEAN, based on the "indirect strategy". Thus, the proposals to combat terrorism are more on the offensive measures. The paper concludes that in the short term JI could win the war on terror, but in the middle and long term, the concerted efforts of ASEAN will be the ultimate winner. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/14356 | Schools: | S.
