Title: Why IMF & world bank failed spirit of bretton woods.
Authors: Teo, Edmund Sze Siong.
Keywords: DRNTU::Business::International business
Issue Date: 2006
Abstract: Much has been written on both the adverse impact of the IMF and World Bank's policies on developing countries, as well as specific suggestions for reforms to improve the delivery and implementation of their various programmes. In seeking to lend another perspective to the debate surrounding these key institutional drivers of globalisation, my dissertation focuses instead on the core philosophy and thinking informing and driving these institutions. Hence, detailed accounts of the workings of the IMF and World Bank lie outside the scope of my paper.
