Abstract

This paper traces the development of President Yudhoyono’s administration from its inception; his challenges and strategies and leadership on future of Indonesia’s political economy. The scope of this dissertation covers the most recent events in Indonesia which have direct association with President Yudhoyono over the last 18 months. In essence, this is a review of the policies and strategies implemented by Yudhoyono which will provide insights into his political leadership. How successful he will be in leading Indonesia away from political instability can be discerned by analyzing the recent events in 2005 and early 2006.
