Title: Tripping over AIDS in South Africa.
Authors: Chan, Chun Kong.
Keywords: DRNTU::Social sciences
Issue Date: 2003
Abstract: It has been suggested that globalization would render states “unnecessary” and that states are increasingly “powerless” to control its destiny. The alternate view is that states feign powerless to shirk off wider social responsibilities towards its citizens. The thesis argues that despite globalization, a state has the power to control its destiny, albeit with the help of non-state actors.
