|Title:||Daughter, mother, soldier : military culture and the woman warrior.||Authors:||Li, Adrianne Yahui.||Keywords:||DRNTU::Social sciences||Issue Date:||2004||Abstract:||The image of the female combatant in different cultures is starkly different. In some historical accounts, they have been celebrated for their bravery and competence. In others, they have been condemned and abhorred. Many arguments regarding the participation of women as combatant have since ensued. Most simply attempts to put forth the possibility of accommodation in the military for women. While these debates are still very much dynamic, the lack of understanding the actual barriers to women warriors is evident.||URI:||http://hdl.handle.net/10356/14431||Rights:||Nanyang Technological University||Fulltext Permission:||restricted||Fulltext Availability:||With Fulltext|
