Title: | Development of a web-based database driven document management system | Authors: | Mock, Jin Wei | Keywords: | Engineering::Computer science and engineering | Issue Date: | 2020 | Publisher: | Nanyang Technological University | Project: | SCSE19-0670 | Abstract: | An online Document Management System (DMS) is proposed to help the School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) to better manage their curriculum programmes information. The current SCSE’s way of managing and sharing of this information is very inefficient and inconvenience to not only the staffs who are managing it but also to the students who are searching and viewing for these curriculum programme information. Hence, the main focus of this Final Year Project (FYP) is to explore various web technologies and develop an online DMS that can store, manage and track all SCSE’s curriculum programme. Technologies such as PHP, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX and various web development frameworks were explored for this FYP. In addition, web and local servers such as Apache and XAMPP were also taken into consideration for the development of the DMS. One of the most important technologies that a DMS must have is a database and therefore, MySQL database was one of the web technology used for this FYP. With these web technologies, an online DMS that can view, search, update, delete and create curriculum programme, with necessary security measures in place, was developed at the end of this FYP. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10356/144602 | Schools: | School of Computer Science and Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
