Abstract: This report documents a final year project work whereby its focal point is the study of microfluidics and MATLAB coding. The working principles and the development of microfluidics technology over time are inherently covered and reviewed in the report. The purpose of this project is to develop an image processing algorithm for use in microparticle manipulation applications. An experiment setup is laid out based on an existing mode of microfluidics i.e. standing surface acoustic wave (SSAW). Insights from this project are believed to have provided a good understanding towards the possibility of the integration between MATLAB and microfluidics.
