Abstract: Optical and radar image are two common types of satellite data being deployed in remote sensing technology. Polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) is a widely used tool for radar remote sensing of the Earth. One of the serious challenges for satellite optical sensing is the cloud cover. It is often that unable to see a place for months due to cloud cover, especially in tropical areas. The purpose of the project is using PolSAR imagery and with help of image processing algorithm to Land cover reconstruction for optical images partially covered by cloud.
