It is used in cooling rooms, refrigeration, storing food and medicines. Heat is generated from various readily available energy sources, converting from hot to cold requires electricity, heat exchangers. An in-depth analysis has shown a strong correlation between cooling and electricity consumption that leads to wastage of energy resulting in this process being expensive. At a flight cruising level, the air temperature reaches -52°C, making it available naturally and freely. This study investigates a model creation consisting of a phase change material (PCM) that stores the cold energy for cooling purposes. This PCM would then be installed in aircraft to be able to reach the altitude to achieve the cold air. This report differentiates the properties of different PCM material and PCM container to achieve the most desirable design it the end.
